Mary Nichols: Moderator
The syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast was founded by Mary Nichols (aka DJ Fusion) was an undergraduate student at the Rutgers University – New Brunswick campus in 1998.
Along with co-host, fellow mix DJ and business partner Jon Pace (aka Ausar Ra Black Hawk, who came on as a part of the show in 2004), the weekly radio show & podcast (we have been podcasting since 2006) exists to bring the Balance Back to Black Radio with having a strong focus on bringing a diverse mix of independent and mainstream Black Music (Hip-Hop, Soul, Jazz, Reggae, Rock, Funk, House & more) from all over the world along with relevant commentary on everything from popular culture to politics, news and guest interviews to the international listening masses.
Raquel Martin, M.S. is from Philadelphia, PA and currently resides in the DMV area. She is a PhD candidate in Medical & Clinical Psychology and a Pre-Doctoral intern at Johns Hopkins, Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, MD. Raquel received her BA in Psychology from Fisk University and is a proud Fiskite. She also earned a MS in Psychology from Lipscomb University, and a MS in Medical & Clinical Psychology from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Mrs. Martin has worked primarily in community mental health with children, adolescents, and families. She has provided services at juvenile detention centers, residential facilities, hospitals, and schools. Additionally, she has worked in private private practice administering psychological assessments for diagnostic clarification. Her research and clinical interests include child/adolescent mental health, psychodiagnostic assessment, implicit bias, trauma, and minority health disparities
Justin S. Hopkins
Justin S. Hopkins, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist from Queens, New York. He obtained his doctorate from Regent University and attended Hampton University as an undergraduate. He currently resides in Washington, D.C. where he works as a staff psychologist for Georgetown University Law Center, and operates an independent practice. He specializes in individual, couples and group psychotherapy for adolescents and adults. Dr. Hopkins is a psychodynamic clinician, which means he believes the unconscious mind plays a powerful role in human development and everyday life. He further believes that we can grow healthier and live more fulfilling lives by discovering ourselves in therapy. Dr. Hopkins is further passionate about social justice and multicultural living. He believes psychodynamic therapy can play an integral role in assisting marginalized persons who seek liberation from oppressive societal ills.
Monica Rivera is a self-taught, NYC-based podcast producer, consultant and speaker shaking up routine and challenging conventional thinking.
She is the host of YOU WANNA DO WHAT?!, a weekly podcast heard in over 75 countries.
She started this introspective and motivational podcast on her own to inspire others to break through fear and live their fullest lives. Using her own personal story as a catalyst, she enters into conversations about resilience, compassion, and the life-changing and life-affirming moments that can overwhelm or launch us.
